Abstract:

Introduction: From a long time ago, benefiting from technology has been an inevitable thing for human interests, which is born and based on science. It can be claimed that there is harmony between ethics, science and technology, which promote each other. In this article, the researcher discusses this harmony and compatibility. Material and Methods: The current review study was descriptive and using the study of sources and research keywords among the books and articles published in the databases of Thomson Information Institute, Science Direct and Pub Med. Conclusion: As science and technology continue to advance and become more integrated into our daily lives, ethical considerations become increasingly important. For example, the rise of artificial intelligence (AI) has raised questions about the potential implications of creating machines that can make autonomous decisions and take actions. If science and technology were considered as a tool, it should have been able to subjugate humans and influence all aspects of behavior and values. While it has become a problem that eventually becomes aligned with morality by applying reason, and people now seek help from it as a tool.

Abstract:

Introduction: Long-term clinical evaluation of dental implants and their surrounding structures is of utmost importance to acquire knowledge about reasons for implant success and failure. However, accurate and reproducible results are difficult to obtain. The aim of the present study was to examine bone height around endosseous implants on digital conventional radiographs (DCR) and direct digital subtraction images (DSI) prior to loading.Materials and methods: In this experimental study, bone height around 10 implants in 6 patients was assessed by 2 observers. Standardized digital radiographs were obtained just a week and 3 months postoperatively and subtracted by means of EMAGO software. Then the observers evaluated bone height on DCRs and DSIs. MINITAB software and paired t-test were used for statistical analysis (a=0.05).Results: Comparative evaluation of bone height indicated significantly higher values on DCR than on DSI (p value=0.002). The observers also had statistically significant variability in this assessment (p value=0.00003).Conclusion: DSI demonstrated lower values of linear measurement of bone height around endosseous implants compared with DCR. Interobserver variability should be considered when comparing values from follow-up studies.

Abstract:

Due to high speed computer networks, the use of digitally formatted data has increased many folds. The digital data can be duplicated and edited with great ease which has led to a need for effective copyright protection tools. Digital Watermarking is a technology of embedding watermark with intellectual property rights into images, videos, audios and other multimedia data by a certain algorithm. Digital watermarking is a well-known technique used for copy rights protection of multimedia data. A number of watermarking techniques have been proposed in literature. Digital Watermarking is the process that embeds data called a watermark into a multimedia object such that watermark can be detected or extracted later to make an assertion about the object. A variety of techniques in different domains have been suggested by different authors to achieve above mentioned conflicting requirements. All the watermarking techniques are different from each other and are used for differing applications.

Abstract:

This comprehensive review study examines photogrammetry as a digital imaging technique in modern dentistry. Photogrammetry, using multiple images from various angles, can accurately determine the position of objects in space and create highly accurate three-dimensional models. This technique, initially developed for industrial and mapping applications, is now increasingly used in digital dentistry. This article reviews the photogrammetry method, the types of devices used (intraoral and extraoral), and its clinical applications in various dental fields, including implantology, orthodontics, and maxillofacial surgery. It also addresses the advantages and limitations of this technique, including accuracy, speed, cost, and ease of use. The results of this review show that photogrammetry, as an accurate and efficient imaging method, can help improve the quality of digital dental treatments. The high accuracy of photogrammetry enables precise recording of the position of implants, teeth, and facial structures and can contribute to the predictability and accuracy of treatments. The introduction of portable intraoral and extraoral photogrammetry devices has made access to this technology easier in dental offices and has made it possible to benefit from its advantages in everyday clinical conditions. Overall, photogrammetry is emerging as a powerful tool in digital dentistry and can help improve the accuracy, efficiency, and predictability of dental treatments. However, further research is needed to more accurately investigate the factors affecting the accuracy of photogrammetry and evaluate its clinical applications in real-world conditions.

Abstract:

Introduction: Creating rich learning environments is one of the essentials of medical science curricula. Due to the pervasive developments in the digital space, the storytelling method has been greatly affected. New technologies have provided a multimedia platform for telling and listening to stories, so digital storytelling can be used as an effective tool in education. Materials & Methods: This is a first-of-its-kind review study that has investigated the specific features of digital storytelling in the field of medical sciences education in a descriptive manner, using conceptual and inferential analysis at the theoretical level. After determining the entry and exit criteria and using appropriate keywords in different databases, 36 articles were collected and analyzed. Results: Based on the analysis of the reviewed articles, the findings show that there are eleven main and common indicators in digital storytelling, which include increasing the active participation of students in the learning process, changes in the levels of knowledge and understanding, impact on clinical skills, and impact on critical thinking, improving team cooperation, improving communication skills, influencing the number and amount of errors, improving interaction with technology, evaluating the impact on motivation and interest, measuring the transferability of learning at the bedside, and influencing professional behaviors. These indicators are consistent with the characteristics of the learning environment in the field of medical sciences. These studies show that digital storytelling with these features in various fields of medical sciences including general medicine, nursing, rehabilitation sciences and social health, psychology, dentistry, pharmacy and public health can be the source of change and wide effects. Conclusion: The results of the research indicated that teaching and learning through digital storytelling happen better due to the story-like presentation of course subjects and also creating interaction between learners. Also, this method creates satisfaction in students by increasing motivation and self-confidence and simply expressing course topics, therefore, the use of digital storytelling is recommended not only as an educational tool but also as a new teaching method to increase student learning and satisfaction.

Abstract:

The objective of this study is to investigate the dynamics of digital intimacy, including how individuals use digital platforms to initiate, maintain, and navigate their personal relationships. It seeks to identify the main themes related to digital intimacy, the challenges and benefits associated with it, and the strategies individuals employ to manage their digital relationships. Employing a qualitative research design, this study conducted semi-structured interviews with 28 participants divided into two groups: individuals involved in digital relationships and professionals in the fields of psychology, sociology, and technology. The interviews were analyzed using thematic analysis to identify key themes and categories related to digital intimacy. The study identified seven main themes associated with digital intimacy: Formation of Digital Intimacy, Maintenance of Relationships, Challenges of Digital Intimacy, Benefits of Digital Intimacy, Navigating Digital and Offline Worlds, Evolution of Digital Intimacy, and Characteristics of Digital Intimacy. These themes encompass various aspects of digital relationships, including the initiation and maintenance processes, the role of digital platforms in facilitating emotional connections, and the challenges of privacy, security, and miscommunication. Digital intimacy plays a significant role in shaping modern friendships and romantic relationships, offering both opportunities and challenges. While digital platforms facilitate the formation and maintenance of connections across distances, they also introduce complexities in communication, privacy, and the integration of digital and offline lives. Understanding these dynamics is essential for individuals and professionals working to navigate the digital landscape of personal relationships.
